The Need for a Framework to Assess Sustainability, Circularity
& Recycling Approaches

General Session I

Tuesday, October 12, 2021

9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

(see full conference schedule)

Presentation Description:

An increased focus on climate is driving an emphasis on the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG) and technologies to re-use plastic and reduce waste. Investors, consumers, government bodies and companies are in the midst of developing solutions that are scalable and practical. In this talk, a case is made for the need to have a systems framework to enable data-based decisions and a clear understanding of tradeoffs. Examples involving recycle, reuse and life cycle thinking are used to make the case.
