Presentation Description:
The presentation will focus on the control of the heat profile of thick-walled PET preforms (that are used for 3, 4, 5-US-gallon bottles) and include:
- How to solve the temperature gap between the inner and outer part of the preform wall (that often leads to surface crystallization or internal stress whitening in 5-gallon bottle production)
- The use of airflow to manage surface temperatures
- See a case where just several degrees of temperature improvement can improve the bottle quality
