Presentation Description:


Colonel Taylor's presentation will discuss “operational excellence” through teamwork with examples from small tactical and large strategic teams she has been part of during her time in the Air Force.

Speaker Biography:

Nancy Taylor is an active-duty Colonel in the United States Air Force and the Commander of the 306th Flying Training Group at the United States Air Force Academy. The 306th Flying Training Group provides soaring, parachuting and powered flight as character building operations focused on enhancing the airmanship and leadership of USAFA and Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets. The group also provides flight training for all Air Force officers scheduled to enter Pilot, Combat Systems Operator, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft training. On an annual basis, the 306th Flying Training Group trains more than 4,000 cadets and officers while operating the USAF's busiest visual flight rules airfield operated only during daylight hours.

Nancy received her commission in 2001, completed Pilot Training in 2002 and has held a variety of key leadership positions at the squadron and group levels. She has worked on the Joint Staff as an exercise planner and the Headquarters Air Force staff at the Pentagon as a resource planner and programmer and has master’s degrees in education and strategic studies.

Nancy is a Command Pilot with over 4,000 flight hours in various training and mobility aircraft and she has deployed in support of numerous operations to include ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.


Her husband, Jeff, served more than 23 years in the Air Force and currently flies as a First Officer with Southwest Airlines.
