Speaker Biography:
Greg Knott is the Vice President, Standards and Regulatory Affairs for the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI). OPEI is an international trade association representing more than 100 manufacturers and their suppliers of gas and electric-powered outdoor power equipment.
As Vice President, Standards and Regulatory Affairs, Greg oversees OPEI’s domestic and international standards development activities, including oversight and maintenance of the organization’s standard development policies, compliance and audit reporting requirements, and general day-to-day standard development activities.
Greg’s responsibilities also include developing and representing OPEI positions on a variety of regulatory issues that present challenges for the industry. Greg works with regulators on a variety of national and global environmental and safety related outdoor power equipment rule making activities, including the US Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Environment and Climate Change Canada and Mexico Secretary of Economy.
Prior to joining OPEI Greg worked for Kawasaki Motors Corp., USA’s Small Engine Division for fourteen years. He served in a variety of engineering-related positions, including leading the divisions Engineering Services and Government Relations activities.
Greg received his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in December 1998.
