Pick-Up Tuck Design and Process
The Pick-Up Tuck design was the winner of the Plastics for Life, Quality of Life award at the 2019 ANTEC.
In this presentation, John will provide an overview of his concept, design and manufacture of this
lightweight & portable cargo organization system for the bed of a pickup truck.
The product installs/uninstalls in the bed of your truck in minutes, without the need of any tools, creating a temporary and secure “trunk” for your truck and completely folds together and stores behind the seats when not wanted or needed.
Biography
John Doster is the President and Owner of SPI Blow Molding LLC located in Coloma, MI. Relatively new to blow molding, John grew up in the plastics industry working with his family’s injection molding company, SPI Industries in South Bend, IN.
John is a graduate of Purdue University (BSM ’96) with concentrations in HR and CIMT. After spending a decade developing and financing utility scale wind and solar renewable energy projects throughout the country, he returned to plastics in 2015.
John leads a gifted and talented team at SPI with decades of industry experience. SPI Blow Molding is a custom blow molder specializing in shorter run production utilizing a wide range of both standard and specialized engineering grade materials. This ability to mold a variety of materials uniquely positions them to look at projects most blow molders simply take a pass on.
