The old adage in PET container manufacturing is “Give me a good preform, and I can make you a good bottle”. The Preform manufacturing market has been undergoing a transformation from strictly manual inspection methods to a wide variety of automated inspection equipment performing a wide variety of inspections in different ways. Developments have been driven by increased usage of PCR (Post Consumer Resin) and other risk factors. Many inspection technologies have been introduced and proliferated just within the past ~5 years. The speaker will offer a comprehensive review of technologies available to the market, how they are applied, and what benefits they offer.
Speaker Biography:
Scott Heins is the Director of Sales & Marketing for INTRAVIS Inc., located in Norcross GA. INTRAVIS a global market leader in the manufacture of vision systems to inspect Plastic Packages and has established business with 10 of the Top 10 North American Blow Molders. After obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, he has spent 25+ years within the Blow Molding industry selling inspection equipment in various technical and management roles. Scott is enjoying the fast-moving vision market and the opportunity to apply technical solutions to inspect Plastic Bottles as well as Preforms, Closures, and Decorations.
