Preform Silos: An Innovative Solution for Cost Reduction & Quality Improvement in IBM Preform Handling
• Labor and secondary packaging elimination by installing an in-line injection to blow molding preform feed.
• Quality improvement by reducing preform drops and keeping them in a dust free, temp controlled environment.
• Accelerated Acetaldehyde reduction by a continuous flow of fresh filtered air throughout all the preform in the silo.
• Modular silo structure to allow for QC inspection to place controlled quantity of preforms in quarantine or reject without affecting the entire silo.
Biography
Egisto Minardi's professional experience includes 13 years in design and R&D in the Seismic and Semiconductor Divisions at Texas Instruments.
He has also worked in R&D for TEC Engineering for 30 years in the development of Conveying and Storage Technology for preforms, bottles, and caps.
Mr. Minardi graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with an MS in Electrical Engineering.
