Speaker Biography:

Rainer Sattel joined AST in 2023 after more than 40 years as an AD/TS Manager mainly for Industrial Packaging Customers at BASF / Basell / LyondellBasell.

He is now acting as a Management Consultant for AST Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH. His main responsibilities include Polymers, Sustainability and Business Management.

Presentation Description:

At AST, we firmly believe there are a variety of ways to advance the HDPE circular economy. From our point of view, it is important to exploit all available approaches to improving sustainability - especially to achieve our recycling goals.

The use of PCR for dangerous packaging is possible and sensible, but associated with higher costs. Meeting specific recycling requirements through mechanical recycling alone will be difficult, especially in the industrial packaging market. We as AST are continuously working on expanding our activities in the area of recycling.
