Presentation Description:
The presentation explores the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the design, engineering, and R&D of extrusion heads in the blow molding industry. It will showcase how BBM optimized extrusion head geometry and performances based on the specific requirements of each product by integrating AI-driven algorithms into the development process. The result is a significant reduction in material usage, energy consumption, and production waste. The AI tool, paired with years of experience, enables rapid simulation and testing, drastically shortening development cycles and minimizing the need for physical prototypes and manual adjustments. This led BBM to not only improve final product quality and consistency, but also to a more sustainable and cost-effective manufacturing process. The session will highlight case studies based on real data demonstrating how AI accelerates innovation while aligning with environmental and economic goals.
Speaker Biography:
Born and raised in Italy, Mattia Anconelli had the opportunity to explore different roles in the industry, working for several machine manufacturing companies and across various countries, achieving a strong technical foundation with international experience, leadership capabilities, and a continuous drive for growth and innovation. His journey began with a hands-on technical education as a Field Engineer, installing and commissioning blow molding machines and packaging lines across various sites. Mattia's natural attitude and curiosity led him to embrace new challenges by expanding into roles that required broader skill sets like Account Management and Project Management, working closely with clients to tailor solutions to their business needs. Over the years, he advanced into leadership roles, such as his experience as Technical Manager in the United Arab Emirates, where he established and led the Technical Department for a multinational company. Today, Mattia serves as the Business Development Manager at BBM America, where he is responsible for driving the company’s growth across the Americas by developing commercial strategies and overseeing operations and sales.
