Presentation Description:
The team at Wipfli has been collecting data from and implementing process improvement at manufacturers throughout North America for more than 15 years. During this presentation, Gene Mussel, director at Wipfli, will review findings from Wipfli’s 2025 Benchmarking Study highlighting performance in the manufacturing industry to outline a holistic view of the market. Utilizing insights from the benchmarking study, molders can establish real-world performance expectations and challenge their team members to generate an edginess and drive for continuous improvement. Additionally, Gene will discuss current industry challenges and market dynamics that firms must consider as they establish internal financial and operational targets for calendar year 2026.
Speaker Biography:
Gene Mussel is a director at Wipfli with extensive experience in plastics manufacturing. He utilizes data analytics to identify opportunities for business and operational improvements and helps implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability. Additionally, Mussel’s marketplace and merger and acquisition expertise are utilized to support client's strategies to build or diversify their holdings.
Prior to joining Wipfli, he was a director at Harbour Results, Inc., a leading manufacturing consulting company. Additionally, Gene has held various senior roles at Plastics Component, Inc., including program launch, operations and supply chain management, operations strategy and business analytics.
