Presentation Description:
The use of post-consumer recyclate (PCR) in blow molding applications presents a familiar tradeoff. A container with higher levels of PCR is more circular but suffers from poorer physical properties such as impact strength and environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR). LyondellBasell is developing a portfolio of CirculenRecover polymers to overcome these technical challenges of incorporating mechanically recycled materials. Among these is LR7320RX01, a single-pellet blend of virgin and up to 75% PCR which has an excellent balance of physical properties (stiffness, impact strength, ESCR) and processability for container applications requiring ample slow crack growth resistance. By leveraging polymer know-how, LyondellBasell is launching CirculenRecover to expand the use of PCR into applications where only virgin materials can be used today.
