Tuesday, October 24, 2023

Session 1A - Sustainable Solutions

2:40 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.

(see full conference schedule)

Presentation Description:

This presentation serves to explain the advantages of using PWDS®/SFDR®-systems for the production of blow molded hollow bodies. We will review the basics of this resource efficient technology to understand how material savings and cycle time reductions can be achieved. Also included is a brief history of Feuerherm GmbH and the product range.

The presentation will also introduce the newest invention, the K-ePWDS®, especially designed for quick change of the die diameters, lower investment costs, and shorter heating times.

Speaker Biography:

Manuel was born in Engelskirchen, a small village in the region Oberberg of Germany, which is known better for the postal address of the Christ Child.

In 2011 he successfully completed his dual studies. Through the combination of practical work with a degree as an industrial mechanic and the theoretical knowledge of the university with a bachelor's degree (B. Eng.), he laid the foundation for his professional career.

During this time he worked for Fawema GmbH, a leading manufacturer of packaging machines, where he deepened his knowledge in the field of automation.

He became part of the blow molding world in 2013 when he joined the team of Feuerherm GmbH, the world market leader for radial wall thickness systems for hollow blow-molded parts.

As a product engineer, he was able to gain a lot of experience in the areas of installation, maintenance, optimization, processing, and on-site training over the years and was involved in the development of the electrical actuators for ePWDS®-systems.

Today, as technical manager, Manuel is responsible for all technical matters regarding the Feuerherm’ s products ePWDS®, PWDS® and SFDR®.
