Presentation Description:
The application of vision inspection in the blow molding industry continues to expand, driven by increasing quality demands, process variations caused by increased use of Post-Consumer-Resin, the continuing to automate, and labor shortages. The speaker will review the range of inspections available for today’s blow molded containers, including a quick overview of inspections for adjacent packages (preforms, closures and filled bottles). Furthermore, the evolution from “just rejecting bad products” towards the use of vision technology to monitor and improve the production process will be discussed.
Speaker Biography:
Scott Heins is the Director of Sales & Marketing for INTRAVIS Inc., located in Norcross GA. INTRAVIS a global market leader in the manufacture of vision systems to inspect Plastic Packages.
After obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, he spent 20+ years within the Blow Molding industry as a Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, and Global Category Manager for the leading supplier of leak testing machines for blow molded bottles.
Scott started with INTRAVIS Inc. in 2016 as a Sales Manager, then became head of sales in 2017, moving from Milwaukee WI to Atlanta GA.
Scott is enjoying the fast-moving vision market and the opportunity to apply technical solutions to inspect Plastic Bottles as well as Preforms, Closures, and Decorations. Vision technology can now enable customers to “solve problems before they occur” and is a vital component of the “smart factory” of today and the future.
